Our Training Ethos

With animal training becoming more popular, it can be a minefield trying to work out how best to train your dog. Our belief is that training should be fun for all parties involved, and is a great time to bond with your furry family member. For this reason, we promote using force-free methods, based on scientific evidence, to open up communication pathways with your dog and help encourage them to make the right decisions.

What is ‘force-free’?

Force-free training does exactly what it says on the tin: it’s training with compassion, empathy, and kindness. This style of training has been proven to boost confidence in our pups, as well as improve the bond between dog and owner. Used correctly, it can also result in a deeper learning experience for your pup, with a lesson that he/she will remember for a long time to come.

We’re big believers in reward-based methods, which means we encourage finding whatever motivates your dog and using that as a reward for the behaviour we want to see. This could be food, play-time, a cuddle with you – the possibilities are endless, as long as it makes your pup happy. By using these, we encourage fun and willingness to learn, as well as effective training results.

You can see this ethos in the products we sell here on Your Dog’s Club: a wide range of healthy, tasty foods as well as a variety of toys for dogs of all play-styles. All of these help to facilitate you in your training journey and to unlock the true potential of your relationship with your dog.
